The TexTet is composed of 7 people who are either Texans, transplanted Texans, or who've spent time in Texas. The frontline consists of trumpet and two tenor saxophones, and we're featuring our own take on "Texas Tenors" music as played by Arnett Cobb and Buddy Tate, among others. A night of Rhythm Changes, the Blues, Sambas, Standards, Ballads and some Funky Music.

Mahogany the Artist


Mahogany has stretched her soul vocals singing back ground with world-renowned bass player Foley (Miles Davis/Joni Mitchel/Chaka Khan). She graced the stage with percussionist Victor Orlando (GAP band, Tina Marie, Chaka Khan) live in Dallas and has also recently served as Music Director for artist Dani Mimms (Klymaxx) live in Dallas. Mahogany has been a featured vocalist in the super GOGO Band, under the direction of 5-time Grammy Award winner Shaun Martin (7 Summers, Snarky Puppy) for the past six years. From soulful to swinging, Mahogany and great band will get you moving.

Keith Karns is an award winning trumpeter, composer and bandleader living in Denton Texas. Keith's original compositions represent the bleeding edge of the contemporary while maintaining a firm grasp on the legacy of his predecessors. Keith’s big band features some of the best young jazz musicians in the country. More than master instrumentalists, each member of Keith's band is possessed with a totally individual creative voice, and by working together they are able to express a truly awesome musical identity. Keith’s music can be heard on his 2012 debut album Thought and Memory as well on the University of North Texas One O’clock Lab Band album Lab 2013 and on the Lab 2014.
