Blue Note Records is an American jazz record label, established in 1939 by Alfred Lion and Max Margulis. It derives its name from the characteristic "blue notes" of jazz and the blues. Some of the most influential artists and music from Coltrane to Monk to Coleman just to name a few were Blue Note staples. Pete Clagett and Chris Milyo make Tuesdays a walk down memory lane and a tribute to this legendary label that changed the world of music.

Up Close & Personal with Shelley Carrol

Shelley Carrol is a staple in the jazz scene locally and worldwide performing all over with the Duke Ellington big band as well as on his own. He is a one of a kind talent and performer. Mr. Carrol was invited to join the Duke Ellington Orchestra by trumpeter Barry Lee Hall. This would prove to be an enormous musical opportunity. Since joining the band, he has toured the U.S. and over 30 foreign countries. He has also recorded and or performed with Maureen McGovern, Tony Bennet, Nancy Wilson, Joe Williams, Sheryl Crow and a host of others.

Michael Palma


Michael Palma a former member of the jazz studies faculty at the University of North Texas where he taught jazz piano and improvisation. He has performed with Wynton Marsalis, Benny Golson, Greg Osby, Tootie Heath, Jimmy Cobb, Mark Turner, Ralph Peterson, and Hal Crook, among others. A stellar line up of the areas finest taking the stage and start the weekend early.

The Chris Milyo Band with special guest Laurie Latham
