Paul Unger Quartet featuring Nina Katrina

Assistant Principal Bassist of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and crossover artist, Paul Unger, will be performing at the Scat with some of countries finest jazz musicians. Also joining the band will be vocalist Nina Katrina. Nina was born in Texas, but grew up in Brazil and Panama. She began performing in the Austin, Texas area and spent the next ten years traveling. While on tour she performed extensively in the San Francisco Bay area, Europe, and St. Croix. Nina speaks and sings in many languages, including Spanish, Portuguese, Catalan, French, Hebrew, and Italian. Nina recorded with The Austin Lounge Lizards featuring Jerry Jeff Walker and has opened for a variety of international musicians including Brazilian recording artists Milton Nascimento, Djavan, Airto Moreira & Flora Purim, and South African recording artists Johnny Clegg and Savuka. |

Sandra Kaye & A Few Good Men

Sandra started her career by winning a singing contest at the now defunct West End Cabaret in Dallas. Sandra says that her sound, which is very similar to Dinah Washington is the result of learning by listening. In her career she has graced the stage with many heavy weights of jazz, from the late Claude Johnson, Marchel Ivery and Onzy Matthews to Shelley Carrol, Brad Leali and Roy Hargrove. Sandra Kaye sings with big bands at home and abroad, her international exposure and experience has taken her to China, Japan, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Thailand, Hong Kong, Spain and Africa. She is making her return visit to Scat. |
